Kristine Disibio is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). She is Board Certified by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Nationally Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She is licensed as a FNP in the states of Kentucky and Ohio. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University and her Master’s Degree in Nursing at The University of Cincinnati, Ohio in 2016. Kris served in the Air Force and Navy Reserve from 1986-1997. She enjoyed the experiences and educational opportunities the military provided for her career. During her early years of military service, she became an EMT, phlebotomist and Licensed Nurse. For the first 5 years of her nursing career, she really enjoyed working at an Intermediate Medical Care facility with developmentally delayed adults and children. She believes this was God’s way of preparing her for the health journey that she would face with her own children.
Due to her personal family history of chronic illness, she has spent many years researching and implementing the Complimentary/Functional Medicine approach to wellness. Through this approach she successfully found relief for the ailments that were affecting her children’s health. During her journey to find answers, she spent 11 years working for a research lab. She received training and obtained vast knowledge in the area of functional medicine and environmental medicine. She developed a special interest in the Functional medicine approach for the treatment of Autism, ADHD, neurodevelopmental disorders, behavioral disorders, mental health disorders, bowel diseases, multiple sclerosis, autoimmune diseases, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia. She has experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner with special interest in Functional Medicine, BHRT, Weight loss and IV vitamin therapies. She attended many educational courses in complimentary, holistic, and functional medicine yearly (IFM, A4M, ICIM, AAEM and Elite NP). After seeing the significant benefits in her personal and professional life, because of the functional medicine approach, Kris decided to become a practitioner herself. She firmly believes that the most important factor in healing is to believe that you can heal!
The next step is determining what is causing the interference in your body that is producing symptoms. Kris provides a comprehensive approach to identifying what is causing a patient’s symptoms. Food allergies or intolerances, stress, trauma, nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalance, toxins, heavy metals or chemicals can all contribute to the underlying causes of many chronic symptoms or health issues. Specialized testing can provide the necessary information needed for finding balance and promoting healing in a patient. Kris is a firm believer in the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional connection to healing. If a person is willing to take the necessary steps to remove any identifiable interference in their body systems and modify their lifestyle and diet this can restore balance! When balance is restored, you can heal!
